HeavenTrain - Lighthouse Ministries

Welcome Aboard the Cleveland HeavenTrain

Then Jesus again spoke to them, saying, “I am the Light of the world; he who follows Me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the Light of life.” – John 8:12 (NASB)

BasketBall

Our basketball program focuses on boys’ basketball from grades 6 to 8 and picks up at the end of the school year basketball season. Our program keeps the boys focused on skill development, team building as well as self and social discipline. We accomplish this by providing both positive role models and a venue to keep them on track outside of their respective schools. This is all accomplished within a fun and competitive context over a four-month period.

Bus Ministry

HeavenTrain is a brightly painted bus that was designed with kids in mind. It is equipped to reach out to children in the Central neighborhood of Cleveland some of Cleveland’s most underserved neighborhoods as a “Church on Wheels”. Because we are mobile we are not bound by the size and location of any building. For 35 years we have dreamed with families, loved on children, and have been welcomed as part of the neighborhood fabric. A long the way we have witnessed the continued and miraculous provision of God.

Mentoring

Mentoring provides an opportunity to help shape the development of a young person. It helps the mentor hone her/his skills in providing guidance to another person, and helping that person develop life skills, such as decision making and conflict resolution. In the process, the mentor enhances her/his interpersonal skills such as listening. The bonds made through the Mentoring Program go beyond high school, and the resources shared help propel the students forward in life, education and career.
