Who We Are

HISTORY OF LIGHTHOUSE MINISTRY

In 1980 Willoughby First Presbyterian Church (presently, Willo-Lake Church) donated a 1962 GMC school bus, which became a Church-On-Wheels. With a will to do more, we started a storehouse food distribution program in 1982. We bought another GMC bus and kept on growing. Then in 1995 we incorporated into a 501(c) 3 as Lighthouse, Inc. We purchased a purpose-built bus to use in our community ministry which became know as HeavenTrain. In 2009, we started mentorship programs and youth programs like basketball and tutoring. Since then Lighthouse has been on a mission to help the youth of Cleveland, one neighborhood at a time.

OUR VISION

Our Vision is a holistically restored community with indigenous leadership fully engaged in the process of transformation.

OUR PURPOSE

To see Central as a neighborhood where we all want to raise our family.

OUR MISSION

Our mission is to equip and empower the children and youth in Central Cleveland with resources and opportunities to reach their potentials.

We believe teaching a child how to fish rather than continually providing him with fish will equip him with the knowledge and skills that will continue to sustain him and improve his future.
